Dead Sun - Seymour Riddell

A soldier from Zachary’s unit at Wolwezen. He is a man who is just doing his job, and he is being very helpful towards Mark, because he is a new member in the unit. But he has a major weakness: that he is pretty bad at fighting against the advenas. He is not really afraid of them, but he is rather afraid of the thought of hurting them or killing them, because he is suffering from being overly empathetic and can hardly bring himself to do it.
He represents the mind-state of an average future-human, who lacks aggression and has hard times when it comes to hurting another living being, but he tries his best to fight against this evolutionary backlash.
The only person who looks up to Zachary: Most people’s views are not so bright on Zachary: they despise him for how he behaves and treats others, and because of his past. But Seymour is different, ha admires the commander for his bravery and capabilities, and wishes to be like him.
In summary, his weakness is his own inability to be brutal and cold, which results in him losing fights and letting go of advenas. He is mostly a positive and helpful person, so he is a little bit resembling to Mark.
Appearance note: He can be easily identified by a huge scar on his face, which he received by the sword of an advena.
