Dead Sun - The illuminated battlefield at the outskirts of Ember City

On the Midnight-region that sunlight never touches, humanity adapted to the eternal darkness by developing their light-source technology. At the outskirts of Ember City, there is a field with hills around it, where the military set up a barricade of strong spot-lights, to illuminate the entire area. This way, they try to defend against the advenas patrolling the area and lurking in the darkness. With these light-sources, they could have an advantage against the advenas, blinding them if they try to advance from the front, but still have a better chance at fighting them if they attack from side-ways.
