He is the only person on the new home-planet of humanity who has this armor, as it was made for the - now disappeared - unit 7K, back on Earth. This also helps in distinguishing him from the rest of the soldiers, as a commander. But this armor is also a reminder of the unit 7K, that people on the new planet still having divided views on wether or not they were the protectors of humanity, or the killers of their own kind. Whatever the case, this powerful armor and suit sticks with Zachary as part of his identity, further distinguishing and distancing himself from other people, remaining as an outsider.
